About us

Team Introduction

Welcome to the webpage for FIRST Robotics Team 4926, nicknamed Galactech!

Our team was formed in 2013, and won the Rookie Inspiration Award at the 2014 Crossroads Regional US FIRST Robotics competition. We are an officially recognized non-profit organization whose purpose is to teach high school students about engineering and technology, as well as spreading information about STEM careers. We are also involved in community outreach and the local middle school robotics team.

Our team is comprised of local students and offers opportunities for students to practice engineering, programming, building, marketing, fundraising, and other skills. Local mentors are always present to help the students in the learning process.

Mission Statement
"To inspire students to pursue career options in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) and to instill in them a deep appreciation for positively impacting their community through their exploration of the STEM fields."

What is FIRST Robotics?

FIRST is an organization that was founded to inspire young people to become science and technology leaders. The program consists of four stages based on age, but you can enter at any point. Our team is the last stage, the FIRST Robotics Competition stage. We work with professional engineers to design and build our own robot. This robot must perform certain tasks in a competition against other team's robots. Click on "FIRST ROBOTICS" to be directed to the FIRST home page.
